Let's Talk of one of the most known typical food in Chile.

The EMPANADA DE PINO

The empanadas de pino are eaten and enjoyed all over Chile, but this dish is particularly more typical on the central zone of the country, which includes the following regions:


Metropolitan Region (Santiago): As the capital of the country and large urban center, empanadas de pino are widely available and consumed here. There's even an annual blind tasting to find the best empanada de pino in Santiago.


Maule Region (including Talca): Located in the central valley, the Maule region has a rich agricultural tradition and empanadas de pino are very common in the area and pretty much beloved by habitants.



As a little fun fact, The empanada de pino when you eat one you CANNOT eat it without dropping something and you will always end up with your hands soaked in vegetable oil. BUT its amazing to eat one. Another fun fact, is that in Japan there is a little restaurant called "La casa De Eduardo" and they offer different Chilean dishes, including the empanadas de pino.
